What’s trending this week on social? Week 26 2025

Welcome to the Weekly Scoop, your go-to roundup of what’s hot on social. This week, we’re diving into the latest platform updates to know this month. From TikTok’s smarter feed controls to Instagram’s AI-powered edits and Spotify integration. Whether you’re creating content or planning campaigns, these updates are shaping how we share, discover and connect online.
Let’s get into it.
Key Word Filter & “Why This Video” Features On TikTok
TikTok is rolling out new tools to give users greater control over their For You feed. With the new keyword filter, users can block specific words or hashtags they’d rather not see, helping reduce unwanted content. Alongside this, the “Why This Video” feature adds transparency by explaining why certain videos are being recommended.
Restyle on Edits
Instagram recently launched a powerful AI-powered editing feature within its Edits app, aiming to bring creative video transformation tools directly to creators. The tool lets you apply over 50 preset styles to short-form videos (up to 10 seconds), modifying aspects such as outfits, environment, lighting, and overall aesthetic.
Grid Re-Ordering on Instagram
Allows drag-and-drop rearrangement of posts on your profile grid using the “Edit Grid” option via either “Edit Profile” or a long-press on a post. First tests started back in February, and now many Dutch users should already see it on updated iOS/Android, but availability varies per account.
YouTube Creator Insights by Google Insights Finder
A new Creator Insights tool within the Google Ads API, designed to help advertisers and agencies better discover and evaluate YouTube creators. The tool offers detailed audience insights, making it easier to match creators to brand goals. With features like creator discovery based on audience interests, compatibility scores for brand relevance, and performance metrics such as views, subscribers, and engagement, this update streamlines the process of finding the right YouTube partners for campaigns.
Real-time Spotify integration in Instagram Notes
Users can now display what they’re currently listening to on Spotify in their Notes (above DMs). Unlike the old static music feature, this updates live as you switch songs. A green Spotify bubble appears in chats and you can tap it to preview or save the track. A fun new way to show your mood, discover music, and spark conversation.
